Ashton Wolfley
Traditional Architecture & Design
I'm Ashton, and I graduated with a master's degree at Catholic University’s School of Architecture and Planning in the Spring of 2024. I made my way to architecture after an unrelated career in Business IT. In 2019, I began a journey to realize my passion in architecture. For years I had poured my free time into design as a hobby - I have now made it my career.
In my third semester at CUA, I transitioned into the classical program and have absolutely fell in love with the practice of traditional architecture. I pursue timelessness in my design, taking inspiration from millennia of accumulated wisdom and precedent.
My tenure at Catholic University culminated with my Thesis Project, where I redesigned RFK stadium and its grounds in Washington D.C. This project was nominated to super-jury and ended up winning that competition in the Spring of 2024.
I am currently employed at a high-end residential firm in Georgetown, Washington D.C. We deliver tasteful and timeless residences from the district to Jupiter Island, FL.
From a technical perspective, I am expert in AutoCAD and Revit, use SketchUp and V-Ray for rendering, and the Adobe suite of software for post-production. My IT background includes professional certifications in Microsoft - from server level infrastructure to OS, virtualization and software.
My strongest intangible is architectural instinct: the ability to immediately recognize sound design and the intuition to remedy that which is not. With experience, I hope to practice traditional residential architecture at the highest level for many years to come.
